I’m assistant professor at the University of Udine, since 2013 with national habilitation to associate professorship.
My main interests include medical informatics and telemedicine (digital pathology in particular), biomedical ontologies, mobile and wireless systems.
I’m member of the WHO Italian Collaborating Centre for the Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC) and member of the Joint Task Force (JTF) on the ICD-11 for Mortality and Morbidity Statistics (ICD-11-MMS).
I’m currently local responsible for the EU Marie Curie project “AIDPATH” (2013-2017), and previously I have been national delegate of the COST Action “EUROTELEPATH” (2008-2011).
I am Associate Editor of the Digital Health journal, member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Telemedicine and of the Journal of Pathology Informatics.
Finally, I am vice-president of the Società Scientifica Italiana di Informatica Biomedica (SIBIM).
